A few kilometers from Bibione we find Trieste, a superb historical city that was once the center of the political, literal and artistic power of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The city thanks to the important port center and the border area has developed a unique character that has attracted and inspired thousands of people making it one of the most colorful and cosmopolitan cities in Italy.
There are several ways to reach Trieste: by train, by car or by guided tour.
By train: the train is one of the most economical and efficient means of getting to Trieste. From the Latisana station every half hour leaves a train to Trieste Centrale. The last 15 minutes of the route are very impressive as the rails are adjacent to the sea.
By car: Trieste is just under 100 km from Bibione. Easily accessible via the A4 motorway with a journey that takes just over 1 hour and 30 minutes. The car is one of the most comfortable means, as although the center of Trieste can be visited on foot, there are some attractions such as Redipuglia or Miramare castle which can be reached more comfortably by car.
Excursion with guided tour: an extremely convenient way to visit the city is through guided tours. The tours depart in the morning from Bibione and return for dinner time. On the tour there is a stop at the castle of Duino, stop at Miramare with a visit to the castle of Maximilian I of Austria.
